Cutting Paper and or Card

Can you give me a rough indication of what settings I use to cut paper and card please

many thanks

Jason

Hello Jason

It very much depends on your laser cutter and the type, size and power of it’s laser (sometimes a sort of tube). Powerful cutters with big tubes over a meter or above 80W or so may struggle at the lower end of the curve to produce consistent low power settings for cutting paper and card.

Most water cooled CO2 tubes, depending on your software setup won’t cut below about 12 or 15% power and corner power. Generally for paper or any new material cuts, I’ll start with a low power (say 15%) and a higher speed, perhaps 30 or 40mm/s.

Hope this helps.
